Cold Springs Studio

Look at these lovelies that showed up on my doorstep last week!

These are tumblers from Cold Springs Studio Pottery in New York- aren't they  pretty?  The glazes are beautiful, rich colors.  I found Alex and Cold Springs Studio last year on his blog.

They go with my Fiesta Ware quite nicely... love them!  Thanks Alex and Nancy!

Spa Day Etsy Treasury!

We've been included in another Etsy Treasury!  This one is called Spa Day, created by Denise from Joyful D*sign!  She chose our Lavender Mint Bath Salts:

What lovely lavender things!  But I think she should have included one of her pieces:  these beautiful Lavender  Dragonfly earrings!

Thanks for including us, Denise!

*beaming*  I just have to share a little bit of sunshine-  I won a blog giveaway over at By Hand Giveaways!  (If you've never been there, you really need to go- lots of super cool stuff...) It was for a gift certificate to Joyful D*sign 's Etsy shop!  I chose this lovely seaglass pendant:

And then I couldn't resist some matching earrings:

Aren't they pretty?  All of her pieces are made with real sea glass- one of my favorite things.  So be sure and stop by her Etsy shop and take a look around!

Shout Out- The Fresh Picked Blog & The Handmade Movement

I found a neat blog the other day- Fresh Picked!
Fresh Picked finds great handmade and vintage products all over the web. Their shop directory features sellers with less than 300 sales, giving new sellers a little boost to get going!
They are also members of the Etsy S.N.E.A.K. Attack team over at The Handmade Movement. They describe the Sneak Attack like this:
"It's a way to support independant artisans who are trying to sell their wares
online. Three days a week at an appointed time, an Etsy shop with few
or no sales is announced. As many people as possible then buy items from
that shop, resulting in a frenzy of surprise business to the unsuspecting
shop!"

Pretty cool, huh? It's also fun to read the Sneak Reports from the shops who have been "attacked" on their blog. They've got an attack planned for Monday, so check it out!

Shout Out- Texas Wineries

Take a look at this interesting research from Texas:

Texas A&M AgriLife
JUNE 15, 2009

It's happy hour for Texas wineries. Research now shows that wines produced in the Lone Star State share the anti-cancer traits known to exist in wines from other producing regions. Extracts from two Texas red wines decreased cancer cell growth in a comparable magnitude as other wines previously studied, according to Dr. Susanne Talcott, Texas AgriLife Research food and nutrition scientist. Her study, which concluded in May, showed decreased growth of colon and breast cancer cells treated with port and syrah (or shiraz) wine. It was the first such study of the health components of Texas wines, she said.

"These results could definitely be projected to all Texas wines containing similar amounts of bioactive compounds," Talcott said. "And this will be the basis for a continued intensive study of all the health benefits of wines made in this state."

Okay, so this has nothing to do with bath or body products... But these Texas wineries are some of our neighbors here in the Hill Country, and we thought they deserved a shout out! They offer tours, tastings and weekend entertainment. For more info, visit Texas Wine Trail and Go Texas Wine.
